We learned how to re-write problems using the distributive property.
HW is the Distributive Property worksheet handed out in class today.
PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL HAVE A QUIZ ON FRIDAY! It will cover the substitution property, translating expressions, commutative, associative, multiplicative, identity and distributive properties. It will also include simplifying problems using the distributive property.

Studying for Math requires paper and pencil work. Students should be re-working homework problems and class work problems as well as completing any study guides given out in class. Simply "reading over" class notes IS NOTE STUDYING! Math is NOT a spectator sport.....you must be a participant!

We started our Unit review for Dealing with Data.
Homework is in the textbook:
page 60, problems 69 and 70
page 323, problems 39 - 42
page 540, problems 8 - 21 all
Frequency Tables and Graphs were collected. Unfortunately, MANY students did not follow directions and points were lost as a result.

Today we checked homework and I collected Progress Reports. Turn these in tomorrow for 1/2 credit if you did not do so today.
We conducted surveys in class. Homework is to complete your final copy of your Frequency Table and construct a bar graph or histogram, depending on your data. Follow the requirements as given in class.
The Unit Test will be on Thursday.

We reviewed Quiz 2 today.
Students learned how to complete a survey and record their results on a Frequency Table. They learned how to analyze the information.
HW in WB-P 1-10 all.
Tomorrow is DEAR and AM. Bring a chapter book to read one half of the period.

Today students learned how to determine if a graph is misleading.
Homework is WB-P 10-4, problems 1-6, and Interpreting Data Handout given in class today.
Students were able to see their quiz grade. We will review the quiz tomorrow in class. These grades are posted in I-Parent.

Today the students took their Quiz.
Homework is to complete the following word problem. The recommended strategy is to work backwards. Show all of your work.
Millie had some money. Then she baby sat and earned $15. She took all of her money and went shopping. She spent 1/2 of her money on jeans, $5 on earrings, and had $32 left. How much money did she have before she baby sat?

I have changed this weeks Agenda to meet the needs of the classes. Therefore, we learned about Scatter Plots today.
Homework is WB-P 8-2, all. (I handed out Workbooks today) Tomorrow is AM and DEAR. Please bring reading material to last one half of the class period.
The quiz has been postponed until Tuesday of next week. It will cover Measures of Variation, Box and Whisker Plot and outliers, and Scatter Plots.

Today we reviewed how to make a Box and Whisker Plot and then we learned about "outliers" and how to find them.
HW is textbook page 499, problems 7,8,9 and 10. You need to follow the 4 steps shown in class and find the Outlier Limits. Then, analyzing your data, tell whether the data contains any outliers.
