Today the students conducted an in-class experiment on endurance analyzing how the number of jumping jacks they jumped is dependent on the length of time they jumped.

Today we had DEAR and AM in 3rd and 6th periods. We couldn't do AM in 4th or 5th because of technology issues.
The assignment given for CW will be checked on Monday (pg. 740, 1-2 and 1-3, odds). This assignment was given in lieu of AM.
There is no formal homework over the weekend.

Students took the test today and their is no formal homework.
Informally, practices problems that you know you have difficulty with such as FRACTIONS, DECIMALS, etc. Don't practice for more than 20 minutes!

Today I introduced a format to use to solve word problems. All word problems that we solve from now on will be solved using this format.
HW is to solve the word problem copied in class.
6th period:
A person is standing in line. He/she is 13th from the front and 11th from the back. How many people are in line?
Tomorrow is DEAR and AM. Bring reading material that will last for 1/2 of the class period.

Today we continued with linear equations. We learned how to take the linear equation and, when given the x value, find the y value and generate an ordered pair of numbers. We then plotted the points on the coordinate plane,

Today I introduced linear equations and the linear equation format of y = mx + b. We learned how to substitute ordered pair values into a linear equation to make it a true sentence. We only covered part of the lesson and will finish it tomorrow.
HW is the Basic Skills Worksheet of Adding and Subtracting Decimals. Complete the odd problems, showing your work on notebook paper.

Students got their Unit 2, Test 1 back today and completed a Test Analysis Form. Parents, this form and the corrected work attached to it will show you exactly what your child missed on the test. The Analysis will tell you why your child missed the problem and steps they can take to improve their grade.
Homework tonight is the Basic Skills Practice on multiplying and dividing decimals. Complete any ODD problems that you did not do in class today.
Get the Test Analysis signed by your parent/guardian and return to class tomorrow....this is for a homework grade, too!

Today we reviewed solving one-step equations involving all four operations. Homework is the worksheet given out in class today. Just complete the side that says "Solving Equations".
REMEMBER.....SHOW ALL 4 TO 5 STEPS ON NOTEBOOK PAPER! There are NO short-cuts on this concept, please make sure you are showing all of your work :) Refer back to your notes.
