Remember you are to carefully fill out your agenda each day and include class work that is not complete AND homework assignments.
Extended directions should be noted in your new folder for the winter quarter.
Listening and taking notes is key to being a top notch student. By now you should not have to be told to write important items that may be forgotten. You have six classes you are trying to keep up with and note taking is a life skill that will help you be among the most successful.
Monday:
We went to the media center and continued working on research disaster topics. This was our fourth day in the media center. You have had access to books on disaster topics and access to using computers.
You are to write one or two highly related facts on each card. You were to have had a total of 25 note card when you came to class today. You will need 35 by tomorrow. Most of you stayed focused and were able to complete the 35. If you did not complete them, then it is your homework assignment. There will be a check tomorrow.
You should by now have copied two or more articles and these should be read and highlighted for important information. Write key words in the margin to match the "slugs" you would use on your cards.To receive full credit for these you must have Tuesday.
Tuesday:
You should have 35 fact note cards for your topic.
A handout on what the first page of a written MLA report looks like was added to the research packet.
On Tuesday we have DEAR reading. You should have documentation that show your reading for the week.
Spelling Lessons #13 and #14 discussed. There will be a quiz on Monday over #13 (odd) and #14 (even) words.
Today, we read and discussed topics from the Research Guide Books.
DOL Sentences were recorded in folders. There will be a DOL test on Tuesday of next week.
Literature Assignment:
Carefully record this assignment from the homework assignment board in your agenda. Your literature analysis assignment will be due on Thursday.
NOTE: Writing notes in your agenda is a skill that is very important. This blog does NOT take the place of your responsibility to copy assignments from the board.
