On Tuesday we will go to the media center for an instructional lesson with Mrs. Hendrix.
Have you been thinking about the person you would like to interview?
We will discuss "Interviewing" during the next few weeks.

Today you finished your unassisted writing for your portfolio. If this is not finished, it must be completed tomorrow.
For those of you who have writings you wish to enter in the writing fair, you must have your piece to me tomorrow before you go to homeroom.
Remember, you must have the form with your parent's signature clipped to your writing.
The homework assignment for today (Thursday) is to read for 20 minutes and write a 5~W summary sentence on your log. You must have a parent signature.
Continue to edit and revise your Disaster Paper.
Tomorrow we will begin reading nonfiction articles, taking notes, paraphrasing, and "Reading Like a Writer."
Make sure you have your Disaster paper when you come to class; you will be looking at transition words and finding the perfect ones for your paper.

Welcome to the Write~Spot!
I am looking forward to reading your Disaster paper!
As I have heard you read segments in class I am pleased that I hear students writing using their own words. Congratulations!
Remember, by now you have a completed draft; bring your paper to class each day. We will spend a portion of class time and proofread, edit, and revise.
On Thursday, you will have DEAR reading and during DEAR reading I will have individual conferences about your paper. You will have to sign up. These conferences are optional.
STUDY TIP:
I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to conference about your paper.
In classes where teacher-student conferences are not offered, you may ask your teacher if a conference may be arranged to chat about something you may need clarification about. Asking for clarification is using intelligent behavior.
