Bringing Money

If you choose to send money with your child, please be reasonable and use small bills.

Emergency Information

In the case of an extreme home emergency that requires contacting a member of your group, call (912) 635-4117 or 4115. If the 4-H Center fails to respond to a call at night, extreme home emergencies can be relayed via the Georgia State Patrol (912) 635-2303.

For important messages (non-emergency) e-mail Chris.Swanson@cobbk12.org. I will be checking e-mail frequently during our stay at Jekyll. Important messages can be passed to students and you will receive confirmation they got the message via e-mail.

Weather Information

At this point, temperatures appear to be moderate for next week on Jekyll Island. However, the chance of rain is present and parents and students need to know the show goes on rain or shine. Moderate temperatures, rain, and a breeze can add up to uncomfortable conditions for a student who doesn't pack properly.

BRING A RAIN COAT or PONCHO and BE PREPARED TO DRESS IN LAYERS!

Jekyll - What about Medications?

Medications must be taken to the school nurse by a parent prior to the trip. The medications must be in the original packaging, or if it is prescrition medication, in the prescription container. The nurse will provide you with the appropriate paperwork. It is very important that we have the opportunity to organize the medications prior to the trip. In the case a student were to unexpectantly need medications, bring them in their container to one of the teachers when loading up the bus in the morning and do not leave until all paperwork is completed. As this is a very hectic time, please try to avoid dropping off medications at that time if at all possible. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse.
