Mrs. Bowman

Mrs. BowmanWhen Mabry opened its doors in 1978, Mrs. Lisa Bowman was here as a student. Six years later, she graduated from Lassiter High School. She then earned both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education at what is now Kennesaw State University. Mrs. Bowman taught at Floyd Middle School for 4 years, got married and transferred here to Mabry. This will be her 15th year at Mabry (her 19th year of teaching).

Mrs. Bowman is such a homebody that when her husband and she bought a house, they ended up moving just 2 miles from the house that she grew up in. She has attended the same church (Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church) since 1978 and has always been an active part of the congregation by teaching Sunday School, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, being on various committees, helping and/or running the children's ministry programs, ushering, etc.

Mrs. Bowman's family consumes the majority of her free time. She has been blessed with a fantastic, fun-loving husband, and two wonderful daughters. Her parents live close by, too. They are all very important to her and help make her who she is. They spend a lot of time together participating in all kinds of activities and sharing their lives with each other. They especially enjoy spending time in the mountains and at the beach whenever they have the chance.

In Mrs. Bowman's "ME" time, she is an exercise enthusiast, she loves to read, enjoys shopping, cooking and surfing the net. She enjoys relaxing on her screened-in porch, watching the beautiful pigeons her husband raises while they fly around her back yard.

As an 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Bowman enjoys her job. Her day is spent helping students learn the math they need to know to be successful, while working with a group of teachers who are caring, enthusiastic and good-humored. She is looking forward to continuing to improve her technology skills this year as she learns more about the Promethean Board in her classroom.
